Sorry for the late update but it’s been hard to find help with making this mod as I am just a graphic artists and any game related stuff has also a programming component.
After 5 brave souls attempted to make the mod and failed, scampering off once they saw they couldn’t tame the beast know as modding in Stardew Valley, one hero has risen.
So long story short, I have collaborated with Trentpreviously on the New fish mod and we wanted to ad new fishing areas for people, because +90 fish wasn’t enough for us and with so many fish the spawning areas weren’t spawning properly anymore. We had to create new homes for our fish.
I had previously worked on many other mods with people, each group had ambitions ideas about desert or forest expansions and of course my Ghibli town as well. But sadly the ever changing landscape of the codding in SDV was just to much for them and many projects died in pre-production.
Thus I decided to take things slow and greed with Trent that we should first do a small island before we try and do the Ghibli mod, or the Oriental Mod (Desert mod).
The island has a middle aged mermaid selling fish related items in her shop. She will be in a relationship with Willy and a friend of Linus. We plan to give her heart events and anything else we will need for all my grand plans for the Ghibli mod. This little island mod will be our guinea pig for the Ghibli Town mod.

Take care everyone and don’t forget to endorse and give kudos to all the awesome modders in the SDV community! Show them some love so they stay motivated (see if any need financial help as well). A lot of projects die because people think nobody cares or the crazy people harass them. Both I and Trent have met some weirdos that have thrown insults and bigoted slurs at us and we are not the only ones. It’s just that we are a bit older maybe, and have a better understanding of the toxicity in any community.
In any case SDV is one of the best communities out there and thank you to everyone who strives to keep it awesome and please continue to support the modders as they keep the community going with new content every month.

For those of you new to my work, I am a graphic artists and I make comics, games and tutorials and I’m also a big fan of Stardew Valley.
I wanted to do a vacation spot in the desert for when winter comes to Pelican town, but a lot of mods weren’t working and I wanted more space as well. So, while searching for other mods that may work I came across the desert expansion mod and it sadly seemed like it was abandoned.
I played with the idea in my head, of a desert expansion mod, for a while and people also kept telling me how they loved my farm and if, jokingly, I could be their gardener.
Therefor I started working on both mods, just the graphics, while still looking for code that worked and one lucky day I came across 13, a modder on the Chuckle fish forums, who was trying to maintain several abandoned mods that greatly expanded the SDV world and he was actually able to get in touch with Yama, the one who did the original desert expansion mod!

So we are now working on a ridiculously big desert map and we have so many ideas, if we can get half done I’ll be super happy. When it’s done I will compile a list of who worked on the project and other things they did as well as who donated assets to us and helped us finish faster. I do recommend you go check my SDV mod list as well, there is great stuff there from very talented people.

And here is some concept art, now this will most surely change because of the following reasons:
– it didn’t fit/looked good
– the idea was scraped
– I didn’t get an answer regarding permission to use so we did something else
– it was a placeholder and never meant to be final, but only to get everyone on the same page
– we couldn’t get something to work
– we got a better idea etc.
So in the last month I have gotten several requests for behind the scenes and tutorials in regard to how I mod Stardew Valley the RPG and I started to make those tutorials. Feel free to leave me questions or suggestions. I love hearing from you.
It’s been a busy time for me, I haven’t had the time to do a vlog like I promised, sorry. Still I know some of you wanted to keep in touch and since we all have our lives, it’s difficult. Kids, health problems, family problems, miscellaneous problems. In the end I wanted to thank all you you who have helped me and continue to help me. Niels Feynman comics is now being translated to Spanish (see translator Alexy) and Chinese (see translator Adrian), I know some of you were really happy about this as you can test your skills in these languages you are studying. Glad it’s of help and I’m looking forward to expanding my audience.
I think I found a programmer for my Ernest origin story RPG, but for now we’re doing a smaller game to improve our game developing muscles and after that we’ll see if we can do the RPG.
I got some nice art events going in my Facebook group: Hisame Artwork Event Center, I definitely recommend checking those out!
And last but not least I’ve opened a shop on Itch.io and uploaded some freebies there. I will continue to upload some more stuff there as well as the games when they are done. I think it’s easier to find my stuff there than on Patreon. Let me know which format you prefer. I prefer using Patreon because it’s easier for me to keep track and give you your rewards when donating. You can donate to me on Itch just like on Twitch.

I really like how the notification system works on YouTube. The way the video recommendation system works is in the favor of the creator much more than it is on Facebook, where I’m constantly reminded I have to give them money or no one will see my posts. At least Twitteris more discreet about this. I can follow my favorite content creators much better on YouTube than on other platforms.
And I’ve had many fans complain about how they can’t keep in touch with me on Facebook, Rabadaba, Instagram etc. , because so many platforms are really bad at maintain relationships between people. So I’ve decided to finally do a 5 to 10 minute vlog series to keep people up to date with my events, giveaways and project progress.
