We’ve had a good year and reached most of the milestones we set for our selves so we want to take this opportunity to thank you, the fans for all your support!
And since it’s a new year I thought this would be a great time to share this with you. Some of you have already seen similar guides before, others have not.
So just a reminder of how the industry works and why supporting your favorite indie artists is so important. They usually don’t have safety nets and do this out of passion. And at the end of this year I have seen many artists give up or get burned out and I must say the thought of closing up shop has passed my mind too, but I have people around me who still support me and so, I am still here. ^_^
So for those that don’t know these things, please have this list in mind next time you see your favorite artist post your beloved content.

Hi everyone! I’m happy to share with you updates from our art event #TenStyleChallenge. And for those of you who don’t know the event, here is the gist of it: make self portraits in someone else’s style.
It’s an event held all over the internet where artists make self portraits in popular cartoon style such as “The Simpsons” or “Sailor Moon”. But for our little art group we did it in the styles of the artists there so that we can promote the awesome artists we have in our group and also make fun of our faces and suffering while trying to do a style very different from our own.

Hope you are having a lovely summer. We had some floods were I am and it’s pretty cold now and I know some of you are deign of the heat wave and exams and jobs and so on but we’re still holding the #ColorMeCollab \(^o^)/ to hopefully brighten your day and give you something relaxing to do.
This round is one me. I made this illustration for a fan of mine, she won the artwork in one of my #HisameOCL art giveaway events. And I’m currently at 2 Facebook likes or 14 Youtube subs away from starting a new Hisame Original Character Lottery. You can go and bump up the numbers if you want to speed up the event start, if you haven’t liked or subscribed already. (~_^)
And you can join our Facebook group to take part in the event or just check out how we colored the linearts. There really aren’t any rules to this, just fun! And anyone can join.
So as the month of May comes to an end here are some of the awesome things we did so far and we have plenty more planned for June!
I published my “How Ernest met Coraline” comic on Itch. You can download the .pdf from there. I’ve included some world lore and coloring pages for you.
Itch also has a donate button if you want to support my work. Any help is much appreciated. For more more substantial donations you can use Patreon to also claim rewards like merchandise and custom art.
This month we held our second #QuickDrawCollab live stream event and we will be doing another at the end of June. If you don’t know what the event is you can read here: QDC explained.
You can join our Facebook group: Hisame Artwork Event Center for schedule and application. Anyone can join as streaming artists long as they have internet and can draw. If you just want to be a spectator here is the live stream link, we will be taking requests from the audience like last times.
We also did our first #HisameBookWeek in our Facebook group. It was a week in which we did:
– Self publishing tips & tricks
– Writing and drawing tutorials
– Publisher reviews
– Promos for indies
– Fan recommendations
This time around we featured Britney Mizumi‘s comic and more comics will be featured in next events. Anyone can submit, just keep it family friendly and mark it as NSFW if it is adult.

Hi! For those of you that don’t know what a #QuickDrawCollab is, here is the summary of it:
It’s an event where a couple of artists get together to quickly draw what the audience asks them. It’s the illustrator’s version of improvised theater, and it can be quite fun if you knows the artists and want your fan-fiction brought to life. It’s a great way to get to know your favorite artists and meet new ones.
I’ve set up a Facebook group, Hisame Artwork Event Center, where we will organize the details for the event. Such as:
– date
– time
– artist streaming
– equipment and streaming test
– links and presentation for participating artists (optional)
So please vote and register there. Everything is free, no financial rewards. It’s just friends getting together and having fun like old times. Most of us met on Tsu and used to hold events like this.

I really like how the notification system works on YouTube. The way the video recommendation system works is in the favor of the creator much more than it is on Facebook, where I’m constantly reminded I have to give them money or no one will see my posts. At least Twitter is more discreet about this. I can follow my favorite content creators much better on YouTube than on other platforms.
And I’ve had many fans complain about how they can’t keep in touch with me on Facebook, Rabadaba, Instagram etc. , because so many platforms are really bad at maintain relationships between people. So I’ve decided to finally do a 5 to 10 minute vlog series to keep people up to date with my events, giveaways and project progress.
