What kind of artist are you?

Hi everyone! I’m back, hope you are all doing well.

So I created a two part video to tackle some frequent questions I get asked, like:
– how do you get so much done
– how to keep a deadline
– how do you stay motivated on long projects
– how to deal with difficult clients

And in this two part video I try and answer all these questions as best as I can. Hope you find them useful and insightful.

The qualities of each artist type:

And the defects and hurdlers they have to overcome:

If you want to chat more about this topic, I have a Discord server where we hang out.

#HisameNews from May \(^o^)/

So as the month of May comes to an end here are some of the awesome things we did so far and we have plenty more planned for June!

Hisame Artwork

I published my “How Ernest met Coraline” comic on Itch. You can download the .pdf from there. I’ve included some world lore and coloring pages for you.

Itch also has a donate button if you want to support my work. Any help is much appreciated. For more more substantial donations you can use Patreon to also claim rewards like merchandise and custom art.

This month we held our second #QuickDrawCollab live stream event and we will be doing another at the end of June. If you don’t know what the event is you can read here: QDC explained.

You can join our Facebook group: Hisame Artwork Event Center for schedule and application. Anyone can join as streaming artists long as they have internet and can draw. If you just want to be a spectator here is the live stream linkwe will be taking requests from the audience like last times.

We also did our first #HisameBookWeek in our Facebook group. It was a week in which we did:
– Self publishing tips & tricks
– Writing and drawing tutorials
– Publisher reviews
– Promos for indies
– Fan recommendations

This time around we featured Britney Mizumi‘s comic and more comics will be featured in next events. Anyone can submit, just keep it family friendly and mark it as NSFW if it is adult.

Click on the image to go to her comic.

And last but not least a bit of bragging on my part. I got featured in the LifeSayso emagazine which I encourage you to go check it out.

Thanks for reading and take care!

#HisameNews for April \(^o^)/

Hi everyone!

It’s been a busy time for me, I haven’t had the time to do a vlog like I promised, sorry. Still I know some of you wanted to keep in touch and since we all have our lives, it’s difficult. Kids, health problems, family problems, miscellaneous problems. In the end I wanted to thank all you you who have helped me and continue to help me. I know some of you can’t anymore, hope you get well soon and see better days. Hugz!

For those that want to stay in the loop but have only 3min to read things here is the summary:

  • I think I found a programmer for my Ernest origin story RPG, but for now we’re doing a smaller game to improve our game developing muscles and after that we’ll see if we can do the RPG.

  • And last but not least I’ve opened a shop on Itch.io and uploaded some freebies there. I will continue to upload some more stuff there as well as the games when they are done. I think it’s easier to find my stuff there than on Patreon. Let me know which format you prefer. I prefer using Patreon because it’s easier for me to keep track and give you your rewards when donating. You can donate to me on Itch just like on Twitch.

Wish you a happy Easter, hugs!

The #ColorMeCollab is back!

Jun Fender said it very well so I’m giving you part of the article:

Some former Tsu users might remember the event called “Color Me Collab”, started by GnaGna Onni , and now on facebook hosted by Hisame Artwork in a facebook group called Hisame Artwork Event Center. If you wanna take part, you can join whenever you want! But…what is about? The CMC it’s about collaboration between artists…for fun! Who wants, can post one lineart, so people can color it in their own personal style, so much fun to see how the artworks turn out!

So…the event started today, and this is the first lineart by Hisame (next will be mine).”

And if you make a video about how you colored it you can ad it to our playlist for posterity:

If you want to see the older submissions and videos go check out our album:

#HisameVlog 02: #QuickDrawCollab and Tapastic review

Hi everyone! A new vlog is ready and in this episode I talk about the event we had yesterday, our fist QuickDrawCollab which was very fun and I’m glad people enjoyed it so much .

I also continued with the format of having a review, a artist spotlight and I answered a question that many people have asked me during me weekly live stream.

If you want to view the recorded QuickDrawCollab click play bellow:

Thanks for watching and if you have anymore questions join our group on Facebook for more information:

#QuickDrawCollab submissions are open

Hi! For those of you that don’t know what a #QuickDrawCollab is, here is the summary of it:

It’s an event where a couple of artists get together to quickly draw what the audience asks them. It’s the illustrator’s version of improvised theater, and it can be quite fun if you knows the artists and want your fan-fiction brought to life. It’s a great way to get to know your favorite artists and meet new ones.

I’ve set up a Facebook group, Hisame Artwork Event Center, where we will organize the details for the event. Such as:
– date
– time
– artist streaming
– equipment and streaming test
– links and presentation for participating artists (optional)

So please vote and register there. Everything is free, no financial rewards. It’s just friends getting together and having fun like old times. Most of us met on Tsu and used to hold events like this.

Hope you’ll enjoy and see you there!

Youtube notification | Friday is #HisameReview

I really like how the notification system works on YouTube. The way the video recommendation system works is in the favor of the creator much more than it is on Facebook, where I’m constantly reminded I have to give them money or no one will see my posts. At least Twitter is more discreet about this. I can follow my favorite content creators much better on YouTube than on other platforms.

And I’ve had many fans complain about how they can’t keep in touch with me on Facebook, Rabadaba, Instagram etc. , because so many platforms are really bad at maintain relationships between people. So I’ve decided to finally do a 5 to 10 minute vlog series to keep people up to date with my events, giveaways and project progress.

Hope you like the format, let me know if have are suggestions for improvement. (^_~)
Take care,
Hisame
